XOS Digital Announces Release of XOS ThunderVR
Virtual Reality platform transports players and fans into immersive on-field action
BOSTON, MA– November 19, 2015– XOS Digital, Inc. (XOS), the leading provider of coaching technology for sports organizations, today announced the release of XOS ThunderVR (virtual reality). ThunderVR provides sports organizations with an immersive performance training module as well as a unique fan experience portal. This technology has recently been adopted by football programs at the University of Florida, Louisiana State University and the Indianapolis Colts.
“We have looked at various companies providing similar VR solutions but the integration with Thunder and ThunderCloud was the real difference maker,” said Chuck Pagano, Head Coach of the Indianapolis Colts, “We are able to incorporate VR clips into our positional meetings alongside sideline and end-zone video angles without skipping a beat.”
“The ability to capture and produce VR content is becoming increasingly easier as camera technology providers continue to innovate,” said Matt Bairos, President and CEO of XOS Digital, “A key benefit to ThunderVR is the ability to easily manage, edit and distribute VR content seamlessly within our customers’ existing Thunder workflows.”
With a customer base of more than 500 sports organizations and an ecosystem of video and analytics solutions, XOS Digital has a track record of providing teams the technology they need to be their best. The addition of ThunderVR allows coaches to incorporate immersive VR content into their meetings which gives them a significant competitive advantage when it comes to training players. XOS will initially offer ThunderVR to the elite professional and collegiate sports markets but has plans to offer the technology to the broader amateur sports market soon.
“This technology can really help our players work on their mental mechanics. They will be able to learn, read and react quicker to what they will be seeing on game day,” said Jim McElwain, Head Coach of University of Florida Football.
